What sorts of people attended Shakespeare's plays?

were they all rich snobs back then, or was the audience a spread of demographics or what? Also, did "rish" equate with "educated" back then, and finally what exactly did educated mean back then? Were his plots and twists really erudite when you negate the Elizabethan way of speaking etc??
