Would a tibetan terrier make a good companion for a basset hound ?

I have a year old Basset hound and would love for her to have a companion . was thinking of having another Basset but really love Tibetan terriers too. I have children and my basset is easy going and loves kids and other animals, I do not work so I am able to give my dogs plenty of attention and walks , would love advise on this matter :) thank you .
